About Christian Education and Formation

What is Christian education and formation? It is not so much about information as it is transformation! And although it certainly includes Sunday school, it goes far beyond that one hour. It’s about creating both formal and informal settings and opportunities for teaching and learning ministries in which people may develop a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It’s about engaging people in the task of informing, forming and transforming them into disciples of Jesus Christ. It is often intentional and carefully planned; it is sometimes serendipitous and spontaneous! It’s about making and maturing disciples of Jesus Christ!

It – Christian education and formation – happens when people of all ages and stages – from “cradle to grave”:

• Learn the Bible
• Accept God’s grace
• Grow in Christian faith
• Become part of a Christian community
• Answer God’s call to Christian living
