Ohio Flood Relief
Lawrence County, Ohio is in need of volunteers to do mud-outs and rebuilding. They have been flooded twice this year affecting 100-120 home with damage and 33 homes destroyed. Contact (740) 509-1132. If any East Ohio UMVIM teams can help neighbors in West Ohio it would be deeply appreciated.
Texas Annual Conference:

Tennessee:
Tennessee is in transition from cleanup to rebuilding, expecting to need teams from late summer through the next 18 months to 2 years. Interested churches can make an initial inquiry to DisasterResponse@tnumc.com. Disaster phone line is (615) 695-2765.
Oklahoma:
In May 2010 Oklahoma was struck again with devastating storms. These storms included tornados which damaged or destroyed over 1400 homes and businesses. These tornados were followed a week later by a record setting hail storm which stripped siding from houses and broke thru roofs and ceilings. FEMA has set up five Disaster Recovery Centers. New York - Gowanda and Silver Creek Flood Recovery:
A flash flood in July 2009 devastated two villages south of Buffalo NY. They are in the rebuilding phase and need additional teams. Contact the Tri-County Disaster Recovery office at (716) 254-1783 or (717) 766-1533. Housing is available.
Flood Recovery: Iowa
Rcovery in Eastern Iowa is ongoing in Oakville and with Block by Block in Cedar Rapids.For volunteer information, contact ( 319) 759-7685. Cedar Rapids, Block by Block program is also working hard to rehab flood affected homes. Volunteers are still needed. The greatest need is for semi-skilled or skilled volunteers this fall. Philippines Requests a Construction Team
Bishop Rodolfo A. Juan, Philippines Central Conference has requested a construction team to rebuild the sanctuary of the 77-year old UMC congregation of Pagangpang. The team will also have opportunities for fellowship with members of the congregation. This is a new project relationship that UMVIM is hoping to strengthen. Medical Mission Team to Nuevo Progreso, Mexico
Contact jspowers@centurylink.net, to join this team. This is a safe border city across the border from Mercedes, Texas. Clinic is held on Friday and Saturday in a church in Nuevo Progreso, Mexico. Stay at the UMC in Mercedes, Texas and cross the border on clinic days.

To Russia With Love
Volunteer-In-Mission opportunity to travel to the Renewal Orphanage in Dmitrov, Russia located north of Moscow, home to 120 physically handicapped orphans ages 5 to 20. Team members will reside in the orphanage, interact with children, deliver gifts, supplies and clothing and buy needed items for the children and orphanage. The team will visit and reside in an orphanage in St. Petersburg, Russia. Team members will interact with children, take them on excursions, provide clothing, gifts and supplies, and buy needed items for the children and orphanage once there.
