BISHOP'S OFFICE
Dear Members of the East Ohio Conference,
Over this past weekend, there was a mass shooting that took place in Akron, Ohio. This deplorable act of violence killed one person and left more than 20 persons wounded. My heart grieves for the number of families and communities that continue to be harmed by gun violence.
I invite you to join me in praying for the family who is grieving the loss of their loved one, for the healing of those who have been injured and for all who have been traumatized by this senseless tragedy.
Let us weep with those who weep, comfort those who are hurting, extend the healing presence and hope of Jesus Christ and continue to be advocates for peace and justice.
As the Body of Christ, let us not become weary of doing good and working to end gun violence. Let us remain steadfast in resisting evil, injustice and oppression in whatever forms they present themselves.
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” Romans 12:12
Yours In Christ,
Bishop Tracy S. Malone
